How long? An update.

The ODAR in Knoxville is currently scheduling cases for January 2009. These cases are people whose hearing requests were received during approximately February or March 2007. It now takes approximately 22 months for cases to be heard.

If I am disabled, do I get Medicare?

Yes.

Once a person is granted Social Security disability benefits, that person becomes eligible for Medicare. However, there is a 24-month waiting period after you have been entitled to Social Security disability benefits.
